We made some great memories
Those were great times
We had no worries

We always laughed together
No, we never had a single worry
I thought this was forever and ever

But it doesn't work that way
Everyone who comes in
Doesn't come to stay

You need to let go
It isn't something
That you can save, you know

"Hey! Can I sit beside you?"
Took a glance at each other
Then she spent the whole class
Talking to me about her brother

I remember how we had fun
But now that's history
And now that it's all said and done

I had to let go
It isn't something I could've saved

Cause it doesn't work that way
Oh, everyone who comes in

When you're thirteen
And thinking about too many guys
Thinking why they won't love you
All those fears and the lies

When you're fourteen
And you don't know what's right or wrong

And your friends are finding new friends
Everything in life seems to have changed
